Born and raised in Port Hope, I am a wife, a mom of two sons (now in their 20’s) and a nurturer by heart.
Energetic and enthusiastic, I face every challenge with a “can do” attitude.
I am also highly organized with a passion for minimizing clutter and restoring order to overwhelming spaces and situations.
At age 55, I am thrilled to combine my passions, talents and experience, to offer a new service to older adults in our community: Downsizing and Personal Move Management.
MY MISSION:
As a Personal Move Manager, I assist seniors and their families with the emotional and physical aspects of downsizing and relocating. My ultimate goal is to reduce the stress and overwhelm associated with downsizing, and to make the process as easy and seamless as possible.
EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD:
Over the years, my organizational skills, attention to detail, and a love of project management have led me to help countless friends, neighbours and family members transform their homes, offices and properties, and transition into new homes.
Whether I'm helping someone declutter, clean, and transform a space, or helping them move and set up a new home, I find nothing more rewarding than using my skills and passions to bring joy to others.
Born and raised in Port Hope, Jackie Currie is a trusted and respected member of her community. Having spent 12 years in bank administration and management, and 20 years operating a highly successful home daycare, Jackie has earned a reputation for being honest, organized, caring, and hardworking,
In March of 2020, just as the world was going into lockdown, I had the opportunity to manage the entire downsizing process and long-distance move of a family member. This assignment brought me so much joy and satisfaction that I knew I'd found my purpose for the next chapter of my life.
Could it get any more stressful than that?
When the country abruptly shut down in March of 2020, my Aunt, an administrator in a London, Ontario hospital, was forced to retire several months earlier than planned.
She suddenly needed to expedite her downsize and move from a 3-story, 3-bedroom townhouse in London to a 2-bedroom apartment in Port Hope.
With no family near-by, and the world under stay-at-home orders, she was distressed and overwhelmed to be facing this situation alone.
I jumped at the chance to help, and offered to manage her move.
I created a floor-plan of her new space so we knew what furniture to keep, and a calendar of tasks to keep us on track.
I guided her through the process, co-ordinating, carrying out, or overseeing anything she felt she couldn't handle herself. I managed every aspect of her move, all the while providing encouragement, positivity, compassion and humour during her unimaginably stressful time.
Despite the huge challenge the pandemic presented, the entire process went off without a hitch, and I loved every minute of it.
That's when it occurred to me that there must be a need for this kind of service among other seniors in our community.
And so, the concept for Dynamic Downsizing was born.
If I can be of help to you or your loved one, I invite you to get in touch.
It would be my honour to assist you in your downsizing journey.
